FOAMed resources

The following is a list of excellent FOAMed resources to help augment trainees learning for FAMUS and FUSIC, or even those who are looking to augment their knowledge and skills.

[Caution: although all great resources, many of these are international resources and are not specifically designed for the FAMUS or FUSIC curricula.]

Their mission at POCUS 101 is simple: to create user-centered content that allows you to start using point-of-care-ultrasound right away! 

Creators of POCUS 101 are fellowships trained in POCUS that have taught thousands of students from all backgrounds including medical students, nurses, and physicians from all specialties.

A collaborative ultrasound education platform. They create, share, and curate free ultrasound educational content contributed by educators around the world. 

There is also a TPA app that can be downloaded for free.

FUSIC South Yorkshire (SY) aims to improve FUSIC trainee motivation, confidence and enthusiasm for ultrasound training across South Yorkshire. However they have excellent online materials that are free/no subscription required.

Logiq Club, hosted by GE healthcare, there are many public/freely available videos on how to perform FUSIC scans (such as heart, lung, DVT, FUSIC HD). Videos are done by big names in POCUS world including Dr Ashley Miller, Dr Marcus Peck, Dr Segun Olusanya and Prof Sharon Kay.

Run by the Critical care team at Northampton, have extensive resources for all areas of critical care. They have a dedicated POCUS section on how to scan all systems, with lectures, blogs, video clips and plenty of infographs that are free to download.

Website run by a couple of US Emergency Medicine physicians. Excellent combination of videos on pathologies, guides on ‘how to’ and podcasts. They cover far more than the FAMUS and FUSIC curriculum, as EM physicians they cover POCUS from head to toe (eyes, MSK, regional, etc), as well as the big ones - heart, lung, abdo, DVT, vascular access.

Ultrasound G.E.L. (Gathering Evidence from the Literature) is a podcast for learning about recent literature in the field of point-of-care ultrasound. Their goal is to provide easily digestible information from scientific studies that will help your practice of ultrasound be evidence based. 

Their website is run by many international experts in POCUS, contains lots of blogs, really good infographics for easy to digest information and links to key literature.

Lots of FOAMed on their website aimed at POCUS (blogs, videos, links to courses). They are very active on social media with a weekly newsletter that summarises all the latest developments in the world of POCUS!
